The Village in the City
Streetsville is one of Mississauga's most unique and beloved communities — a genuine historic village that retained its identity even as the city grew around it. Incorporated as the Village of Streetsville in 1858, the neighbourhood was annexed by Mississauga in 1974 but never lost its character. Today it remains the most distinctly village-like community in all of Mississauga.
The main street — Queen Street South — is lined with independent restaurants, boutique shops, antique dealers, and family-owned businesses that give Streetsville a walkable, community-oriented character that feels more like a small Ontario town than a GTA suburb. The annual Streetsville Bread and Honey Festival draws tens of thousands of visitors each year, reflecting the genuine community pride that defines the neighbourhood.
Real estate in Streetsville offers strong value relative to many Mississauga neighbourhoods. Buyers find a mix of renovated older homes on quiet streets near the village core, semi-detached and detached homes in nearby residential pockets, and townhouse communities offering accessible entry points. The Credit River trail system runs through the neighbourhood, adding natural amenity that few urban communities can match.
